Bio

Robert Johnson is a professional horn player and educator based in Houston, TX. With decades of orchestral performance experience and a passion for teaching, Mr. Johnson has helped hundreds of students develop their technique, musicianship, and love for the horn.

His teaching philosophy draws from the Old School tradition of horn pedagogy, incorporating repertoire from masters such as Schantl, Maxime-Alphonse, and Neuling. Mr. Johnson's positive and exacting teaching style has earned him a reputation as one of the most sought-after horn instructors in the region.

In addition to private instruction, Mr. Johnson has developed original educational materials including A Semester's Worth and The Nuts and Bolts Bible, designed to provide structure and depth to the daily practice of horn students at every level.
